These three weaves explore how the cutoffs, scraps and waste from a Swedish linen weavery can get new life. The scrappy material has been naturally dyed using local plants, natural indigo and iron to achieve darker gray tones. Gray symbolizes the ashes left when textiles waste burn, a common way to get rid of the over 92 million tons of waste produced globally every year. These weaves will not see that end. It is a part of my master project where I explore material sustainability in textiles and the importance to face- and keep moving through the darker emotions and fears of climate change. CZ: Tyto tři tkalcovské stavy zkoumají, jak mohou odstřižky, zbytky a odpad ze švédského tkalcovského lnu získat nový život. Odřezky materiálu byly přírodně obarveny pomocí místních rostlin, přírodního indiga a železa, aby se dosáhlo tmavších šedých tónů. Šedá barva symbolizuje popel, který zůstane po spálení textilního odpadu, což je běžný způsob, jak se zbavit více než 92 milionů tun odpadu, který se každoročně vyprodukuje na celém světě. Tyto tkaniny se tohoto konce nedočkají. Jedná se o součást mého magisterského projektu, v němž zkoumám udržitelnost materiálů v textilu a důležitost čelit - a stále se pohybovat - temným emocím a obavám ze změny klimatu.
